Digitek (digoxin)

The prescription drug Digitek (digoxin) has been recalled by the pharmaceutical company, Actavis Totawa, because some of the Digitek tablets are alleged to contain twice the approved level of the active ingredient. Digitek is used to treat heart failure and heart rhythm abnormalities. The affected Digitek tablets can lead to an accidental digoxin overdose and toxicity, which can cause nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, bradycardia, other cardiac problems including even death.
