Escalator Accidents
Escalator injuries, though rare, may occur anywhere in any building where escalators are used. The Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries reported 207 deaths in the ten years 1992-2001 – about 21 per year – related to elevators and escalators. Of these, 146 involved work on or near elevators and 61 of those killed were elevator passengers – people entering or riding in elevators while at work. During those ten years, six people died in escalator accidents.
If you or a loved one has suffered an injury or loss of life due to an escalator accident you may be entitled to monetary compensation. For a free case evaluation please fill out the form below.
