Utilities Fraud
Utilities Fraud is a problem plaguing our nation. Oftentimes, large electric and gas utilities companies charge taxpayers for services rendered for supposed "state or federal income tax". What is more, the funds collected for these government taxes never actually make it to the government. For example, in recent years, Oregon ratepayers have paid upwards of $1 billion in alleged government taxes which were never paid to any government. This is possible because many of these utilities companies are subsidiaries of still larger coroporations that deduct false losses in order to retain the funds supposedly collected for "state and federal income tax."
